Vaca & your thoughts on Easter, please!

  • The fam just got home from a short vaca. We visited some old friends in Iowa. It seems strange to have gone 8+ years without seeing our friends, the White's. It was a nice change of zip code for a few days. We rested, laughed, played, shopped; and we laughed some more. We made a short stop in Seymour, IA on our way home. This is where Mr. Jeremy's great-great-great grandfather settled after moving from Ireland. He was the first of Jeremy's family to move to America. It was neat to see the 'Jamison's' sign over the building that served as a mercantile to Seymour in the late 1800's.
  • I'd love to hear some feedback on the Easter Eggstravaganza. This was our first time doing the egg hunt before Easter - and we'd never done the games, etc. along with it. What did you think? Did it work well for your Easter weekend? How did your kids like it? What did your kids like the most? Leave me a comment...
  • Thank you to the many volunteers who came, who saw, and who conquered the Easter Eggstravaganza. I don't know how many people came in all, but there were 200+ kids who hunted (or just ran out & grabbed) eggs. Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped clean up.
  • For those of you who've been asking, I do have a few things planned for April & May (including a Baptism class). I'll try to get that all together and posted next week. I'm starting to work on summer stuff. If you have any great field trip suggestions, leave a comment!

Thank you!! I love your kids :)

We thought the Easter Egg-stravaganza was great. Having in on Saturday before Easter was nice, it was a little more relaxed on Sunday for us. Our kids loved the egg hunt (run) and the games/blow up stuff. I liked how the ages were separated for the egg hunt, it helped the little ones to not get trampled and allowed the older ones to have fun, too. Thanks for all your hard work!!!

The Easter Egg-stravaganza was great! The kids had a blast! They loved all of it. The coloring, face painting, games, the bouncy things, pictures with Penelope, all of it was great. It was right up their alley! My kids especially loved playing for the pixie sticks hahaha. :) The egg hunt was fun and very well organized and tons of eggs! Thank you Charla and all the volunteers for the awesome job. You gave them an awesome Easter!

The Easter Eggstravaganza was a great time had by all. Just watching all the kids running around having a great time in our building, wow! Our family had a great time and love that it was not on actual Easter day, which is a really busy day for all. This was a great and fun opportunity for older kids to serve and be a great example to their younger peers. The games, crafts, etc. for the littles were a ton of fun! Great job Charla and a big thanks to all those who volunteered their time and effort to put this event together. We look forward to serving the community in this event next year. Great job!
